L’objectivité scientifique à l’ère de la post-vérité

Objectivity is supposed to guarantee the superiority of science over other modes of knowledge. It must therefore be defended, especially in this “post-truth era” where “alternative facts” replace actual facts, in politics as elsewhere. But the attacks come as much from outside as from inside the philosophical sphere. It is thus necessary to try to achieve the widest possible reconciliation with two representatives of (very) opposite sides, Mario Bunge and Bruno Latour. Reinvesting the major conceptions of the notion of objectivity, I propose here three projects for this reconciliation: the dismissal of naive and sometimes insincere conceptions of science, the reassessment of the contexts of discovery and justification, and that of the facts-norm distinction.
