La satisfaction au travail des enseignants canadiens

This article aims to identify the factors linked to Canadian teachers’ job satisfaction. The data from a national survey (N = 4 210) were analyzed. The results indicate that the majority of respondents were satisfied with their jobs, but that the level of this satisfaction is variable. Multivariate analyses reveal that job satisfaction is influenced by factors both intrinsic and factors to the trade, but the former have a relatively more important influence than the latter. Specifically, satisfaction is higher among teachers with the feeling of having rewarding relationships with students. Analyses separated by regions indicate similarities and some disparities between provinces’ education systems.
